He restores my soul…
The Bible does not say that He wearies, troubles or threatens my soul to guide me along the right path. Instead, Psalm 23:3 says, “He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.”
What does He do to restore our soul? The previous verse says, “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.” (Verse 2)
When He makes us lie down in green pastures and leads us beside quiet waters to refresh us, our Sub-conscious mind awakens. Then, He teaches our Sub-conscious mind and guides us along the right path. Because, Sub-conscious mind is the reason to create habits and attributes in humans.
We are what our Sub-conscious minds are. That is why Satan sows toxic seeds in our Sub-conscious minds through media and cinema. It impacts us easily.
If you ask whether God does not teach our Conscious mind? He does! We read the Bible and listen to sermons via our Conscious mind. When we use our Conscious mind to listen to the truth, our mind is cultivated like a land, it matures.
Nonetheless, the seeds sown produce 100 percent yield only when we rest. That is why the call of the Gospel says,“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matt 11:28)
Most of the sermons that is intended to guide us in the righteous and holy path only tend to distress us. But, honestly, we can learn to walk in the right path only when we are in the state of rest. Only that will do its deeds in us to transform us!
