Three types of children
The exhortation of the world is different from God’s. It is an encumbering prayer when you listen to the suggestions of the world and ask God to fulfill them. The request of Israelites to Samuel asking for a king to rule them like other Gentiles is such a chaotic decision. The Bible shows us the adverse consequences of that decision. This is what first type children who profess to be Christians but are still somewhat spiritually immature do.
You know what the second kind of spiritual children do? They flee when they are in danger, seek safety with their father, and cry out to him than to advice Him. The Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt were not prudent enough to advise God seeing the Gentiles. Hence, they cried out to God. It is the characteristic of children to cry out to their father when they are in distress. God commanded them an unprecedented redemption. Letting God to do His deeds the way He likes in our lives will gift us with supernatural experiences.
There is a third type of children. These are grown up children. Those who know that knowing God, believing in Him, and acting like Him is far better than crying out to Him. This is the example of Jesus. It is the nature of grown up children to be like their father when they face dangers. A grown up child will neither advise to his Father nor cry out to Him. He will do what he had learnt from his Father. He will be a representative of his Father on the earth by fulfilling as he counselled. Our Heavenly Father expects this from us.
