The blessings are for Christ Jesus
If someone renunciates his blessings, anyone will say that he did it for the Lord. It is related to the sacrifice of an individual. But many cannot believe that we are blessed for the Lord. We have come to an understanding that blessings are for us while renunciation is for the Lord.
In the wilderness where there was no water, how did the Israelites fetch gold, silver, bronze, blue, purple, scarlet yarn, fine linen, fragrant incense and much more to build the Tabernacle?
Israelites got those from the Egyptians. It was their fair wage for their work in the Egypt as slaves for 430 years. Egyptians would not have given their salary if they had asked for it, so the Almighty God taught the Egyptians a lesson and fetched the Israelites their equitable wages that actually belonged to them. They used those wealth to build a Tabernacle for the Lord in the wilderness.
It is the habit of God to give. It is also His favorite habit. But it is in the hands of men either to live peacefully in the presence of God by building a Tabernacle with the wealth he bestowed (Exod 25:8), or to make a golden calf and worship it, to be smitten by the Lord.
The people who renunciated brag about their sacrifices more than exalting the Lord, resulting in transforming themselves into golden calves and get trapped in the danger. Hence, it is no big deal to analyze whether it is good to get or to renunciate. Our mentality matters the most!
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31) .
