Faith prevails over probability
Have you ever thought what would have happened to David if the stone he slung towards Goliath had not striken him? If you think that it was David’s talent that he had aimed perfectly, then you are wrong. David himself knew undoubtedly, that it was God’s work.
When David slung the stone, either it would have striken Goliath, or it would not have harmed him, or it would have fallen somewhere on his armor. There are chances that anything we do, could either be a success or a failure. You might have studied in your school text books about the Theory of Probability. According to this theory, there are 50℅ of chances for the outcome of a coin to be Heads when it is tossed; and 12.5℅ chances to aquire 12 points (at once) when the dice is rolled (in pachisi Indian game).
If you ask the world whether we can control the probability to get the favorable outcome, it will say that we cannot. But scientists Dean Radin and Roger Nelson say that we can get favourable outcome in poker, pachisi (dice) games by using our mental willpower. It is called Micro-Psychokinensis. Yes, humans’ willpower can control the probability.
According to the Jewish tradition, during the ancient days, either to solve some complicated problems or to divide the property, they used to cast lots. They believed firmly that God’s guidance was there to help them choose. There are many instances in the Bible to cite this, Joshua chapters 18,19; 1 Samuel 14:41,42; Acts 1:24, and many more. We can also see the deeds of God through this.
“The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord,” says Prov 16:33. We, as Children of God are ought to know that, when believe according to the will of God, He can turn off the unfavorable outcomes and give us only the favorable outcome in this probability. Our Almighty God is able to do it. That is how Joseph became successful and prosperous (Gen 39:2).
Our faith works on the probability. When our faith combines with our Almighty God, miracles happen. See what David spoke before he aimed the sling at Goliath:
David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” (1 Samuel 17:45-47)
It is not just a heroic dialogue.. These are the affirmations of a man whose veins flowed with the blood of faith. These words of faith turned off the unfavorable result and directed the stone to strike perfectly at Goliath’s forehead.
