A woman is…
We read in the Bible that God created every living organism as male as well as female. But when he created human, he did not create both the genders together. Adam lived alone in Eden for sometime. Before Adam had realized his need, God knew it.
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a partner suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18)
In this happenstance, God let Adam name all the birds and wild animals (Gen 2:19, 20). He must have thought that Adam may ponder about the need of a woman when he sees every living being with its pair.
After naming all the creatures, Adam must have felt his need as God regarded. God works in the very next verse.
So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
(Genesis 2:21-22)
One of the wonderful natures of our Lord is, he prepares the banquet before inviting the guests. We read about this in the whole of the Holy Bible. God created Adam after arranging all his need (food and shelter). If God wanted woman to be man’s helper, he would have created Eve first before creating Adam. But that did not happen.
In the history of creation, the only thing that God made man realize and wait for a need is “a woman.” That is why God, commanded man to ‘rule over’ everything, but only in the case of woman, he told him to ‘love.’
Hence, a man who thinks his wife to be just a slave, cannot be a human at all. Let alone a Christian!
