The ultimate victory of nothingness
There are some verses which nobody could ever speak and nobody ever spoken were uttered only by Christ. One of those verses is:
“For the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me.” (John 14:30)
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is this. It is not just a verse, but a victorious peal of the representative of mankind!
The meaning of this nothingness is not void, but authority! His hand is not empty to give nothing to Satan as it had given him a violent strike!
Shall we see about this Nothingness?
The leader of heavenly worship team, Lucifer turned into a disgust because of the sin called Pride. Nonetheless, this Pride impoverished in front of Jesus Christ! He was adored relentlessly in the dawn and in the dusk. Yet, He abdicated everything and took a form of a human. How can pride stand before Him? The pride that defeated the worship leader cannot even get close to the worthyman of worship. The Pride cannot take Pride in itself that it can beat up any man in the world! Therefore, Pride cannot stand ahead of Him!
Fear, is like the shadow of human. It continues to be with him always. However, Christ Jesus knew when, how, by whom and in what way He would die, when He was a child. Even at the time, when His body was ripped, only blood and plasma seeped out in abundance, but not a tiny bit fear! It could come only if it were present! Who can walk peacefully amid the dark, deep roaring waters of the sea? He was born in the boundary of the realm of tyrant Herod! Did He fear Herod after growing up, knowing the affairs of the state? Not a teeny bit! The roar of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, “Tell that wolf that I told,” must have terrified not just the people but also the prince of the world! He, who was not frightened about the brutal death, would he fear the petite clay Herod? Herod’s diadem cannot equal the dust of Christ’s feet! Hmmm, Fear has nothing to do with Him!
The generous prince of the world, who bestows the people with immense worries, worried about himself before Christ Jesus! Because, he had no weapon to defeat Him. The most powerful weapon Satan had, ‘the death’ became blunt touching this Almighty Rock! Does the one who feeds the crows so they don’t worry, and dresses the flowers so they don’t worry, will worry for Himself? He is the Son of Almighty God, El Shaddai, who rules the entire universe! Therefore, anxiety fails before Him!
The sharp weapon that slayed Samson the Nazarene, fell flat before Jesus of Nazareth! Lust! The devil may have seen many lustless young men. But only in Jesus, he would have seen the lustlessness in the form of a young man!! Offspring of David may lose eyeing Bathsheba! He should have estimated to tackle Him with lust, the way he nags other youth. But, all the maiden that met Christ became noble, none could ensnare Him! He, who is satiated in the presence of Father, will only loathe the worldly honeycomb (Prov 27:7)!! Hence, Lust came to nought in front of Him!
“Materialism, that plundered Balaam and Gehazi, go, corrupt Christ, the Son of God!” Satan might have sent materialism. It might have intimidated after knowing His abode. How can Satan ensnare Him with desire, when the Heaven is His Throne and the Earth is His Footstool? Gold and silver would estray behind Him. The one who has envisioned the splenderous face of the Father, He that is He from the ancient times, will only perceive all the glories of the world to be obscure! Materialism, fell on it’s face in the first attempt!
Though Satan cannot trap Christ, he trapped the ones who wanted to trap Christ with a weapon call Envy! He might have commanded Envy to ensnare Christ. But using whom or showing whom he could make Jesus envious? Satan does not know the answer for it until now! No one, ever, from the beginning of the world till now has the nerve to do that! So, Envy has no part in this battle!
Satan has seen millions of gluttons. He tried to deceive Him with binge eating and attempted to enslave Him with His favorite food, despite the cost of it. When he researched what is the favorite menu of Jesus, he trembled with dismay, as doing the Will of God is His desirable food (John 4:34)! If Christ eats that food, the whole realm of Satan that he had been constructing for hundreds of millenium, would annihilate to nothing! Satan had the binge to fast in the case of Christ! Hence, Binge crashed and burned before him!
He tried to send Folly, Fierce and Hassle.. The three went to Him with imprudence, tried to intrude Him fiercefully and came out hassled at they could not even near Him! They proclaimed to their lord, that they have no place for themselves in the Mobile Temple of God!
What next?
He was not arrogant to be masculine, not proud to be handsome, not boastful of his race, and did not hate people of other races, He did not ignore the ignorant, He was not haughty to be wise, no cuff could reproach Him, no laziness to pulverize Him, had no hypocrisy as a sectarian, no disguise as a Pharisee, He did not abide to the Head of Jude, did not associate with the Roman government, had no owndom, never let his relatives authoritize over Him, never strayed for the position of priest, never did He renounce the commandments of Moses, never relucted to notify the mistakes of His children, never delayed to pay the taxes to Caesar, did not hold onto poverty, was not ensnared by luxury, never worried about sickness, never intimidated by ghosts, no hatred, no bitterness, no lethargy, no love towards the system of the world, no animosity, no self-centeredness, no debasement, no emptiness, no loneliness as He was with the Father. No, no, no, nothing..
“For the prince of the world is coming. He has no hold over me.”
The wobbling serpent with its head crushed by His Heel murmured in concord, yes, I have no hold over Him.. Nor have I the weapons to defeat Him…
